Adam Hevenor in a wide-brim hat, leaning against a weathered wood shed

// Adam Hevenor

I've been building software systems professionally for over 25 years. I started on real-time trading systems in the dot-com era, moved to mobile apps through Web 2.0, and have spent the last 10 years in cloud infra products — where I hold patents in vector search, distributed logging, observability as code, and container bootstrapping.

Most recently I led the AI and search team at Aerospike. Now I work with CTOs and tech leaders on their own codebase and roadmap. See case studies for the shape of the work, and writing for how I think about it.

hev mind is the practice; it's also the brand. The consulting funds an infrastructure R&D effort I run under the same hev roof — hev layer, a production retrieval gateway, and hev ask, open-source docs search built for readers and agents alike. hev mesh, hev map, hev kit, hev loop, and hev lab are still in the works. The client work keeps the R&D honest. The R&D keeps me sharp for the client work.

I'm curious and a lark — up before most, and always tinkering or exploring on my bike. When I'm not building, I'm making family travel videos and writing up the road on Travels with Charlie.
